This series was done in November and December of 2015.
It came out of my need to scribble and 'write' in a made up language. The 'gestural energy' came over me. I seemed to need to process some unconscious material, and that is the form it took.
Some paintings took on some figurative elements, and some remained abstract. The profile-face of the Urban Shaman literally stood out among all the other gestures I had painted, and all I had to do was to 'reveal' the face, like a sculptor does with his/her stone.
